We're doing more to it this winter (3rd project in 3 winters....re-did entire cabin winter '02, rebuilt motors winter '03 and now re-painting it with more improvements to cockpit/cabin area winter '04). Hopefully losing the deck vents....they've gotta be the biggest vents in boat history and they really date the boat. We took off the windshield and we're making our own faring(sp?), plus we're taking the cabin door off and doing that in a zippered vinyl so you're not hearing the constant pounding of the cabin door in 3-5 footers.

Not much left that's original on the boat, but we sure are happy with her.
Sounds good, I can imagine its alot nicer and cleaner looking and makes the boat appeal newer to the eye.

Do you have any before and after pics by a chance?

It definately looks more updated and cleaner. I'll scan the original look next week and post, plus what it looked like after Rob painted it the first time with the arch, and then what it looks like now (which is already posted in the owners forum thread).

Not to many made. From what I have heard they were the toughest Cats made. They could handle any sea a mono hull could. Chris Craft made just about everything that floats back in the 80's, from stingers to mega yachts, trawlers to cuddy's, even sail boats. They sold the molds to someone who I'm not sure who and not sure if they are still being made.

Yep. As did OMC for a minute and Murray.
Mines a Murray.

Bob Kollotie might know where the molds went.

I'm not a hater.... I have an 87, but there are some pretty bad hulls out there in the mid-late eighties. From what I am told, the Murray glass crew had a perma-buzz from 1986-1989. Could be rumor, but my 87 has issues, so I am inclined to believe.
