Default Shifters

What kind of shifters came on an 88 Bullet? Were the Merc Racing or Kief or ?

i no my 90 revo came with kiekhafer. i have price list for all cig models in 1990. ill chekc if it says nething about it on options list.

Those look like KK's to me. The KK's featured detents so when you advanced or retarded the throttles they would "click" into a position.

The reason I'm trying to find out this info is one of my shifters detents doesn't seem to be working well. When I go from forward or reverse to neutral it doesn't seem to click. Therfore it makes it hard to find the perfect neurtal position. So, I was wondering what was wrong and what to adjust or replace. Any suggestions?

id unscrew throttles base and see iwats going on. ours are a pita to shift

I've never had a problem. The detent works/clicks as it should.

How do these things work? Can you shift into gear with engine off to test these shifters? What do you think my week link is?

NO! Shifting with the engines off can/will bend your shift cables & make it hard to shift. Don't do it.
