TG rear seat back removal - HOW??????
I want to remove the seat back on the rear seat. I removed the hinged seat bottom (no brainer there) but I can't see how to remove the seat back. I climbed into the engine bay to look for fasteners and saw nothing.
So how do I remove it?
Time for more winter upgrades ya know.

Bill,
There should be either 5 or 6 bolts holding them in that can be accessed through the engine compartment.Thats after you take off the side panels.( check your pm)

On my 2000 T/S, the rear seat (base & back) was all one piece. There were bolts that bolted it to the floor, which could be found under rear seat. There were also a few that bolted it to the bulkhead that could be found in the bilge. pm203 is correct, you must take off the side combing panels to lift the rear seat out.

Re: TG rear seat back removal - HOW??????
Here are a couple of my 93. I hope that they help. Just make sure that you have a couple of friends around when you take it out as it is very heavy. Also, if I remember correctly, the rear seat has a slight taper to it and the only way it will move is up and not forward.

The whole back area one piece???
I am not sure on that. Here is 2 pics that show the seat back. The seat back appears to be a seperate piece. Roger1's pics are different from what I have. His is one peice and looks it.
Now the sides (where the steps are) and the seat base are definately on unit.
The boat is an '02 (made in the summer of '01)
Any more thoughts?
If it IS one piece - I am not going to mess with it. The vinyl is in great shape - just can't get it "bright white" looking. Plus I wanted to re-do the Cig oval. Has some purple in it that has slightly faded - plus I don't care for purple.

the steps and the base and the back are assembled as a unit, you can take the back off of that unit, but you have to take it out first. When i redid my rear seat on my donzi it was that way. It was 3 seperate pieces that were upolstered, then the were attached to the base which was upohlstered as well.
