Best props for a 94 top gun, 502 mag efi
What are the best props to run on a straight bottom top gun, full cabin, 502 mag efi, bravo 1 drives.....the boat came with 21p mirage plus. Boat seems to run bow up and needs very little trim.
Cruise around 4000 rpm......48-50 mph
WOT around 5000 rpm.......63-65 mph
Is this optimal........I just put on 23p mirage last night and ran the boat, don't have alot of running time on these props, I'll keep everyone posted....

As far as I know.......
BTW, didn't pop a drive the other night, broke the plastic hub insert in the prop
....must have hit something, because the water pick up for the speedo was bent back I couldn't have been happier to find that out!!!

Your numbers with the 21's look very good for a 502 MAG. THe 23's will lower your rmp's by approx. 200-250 for each inch of pitch. THis will probably give you a little better cruise but will sacrifice top-end.
If the boat carries the nose high get used to it, it's the nature of the beast with the rocker in a Top Gun. You can have the Prop Shop take some cup out of the props to drop the nose some.
Seans comment about (4) blade is a good one but watch that you don't sacrifice drive life for more blade area. Remember that the Top Gun is a heavy rig.

By the way I'm sure the stuff LEOPAJAM has is premo and probably labbed. This will make comparisons of prop to prop a little harder. Keep us posted....

I have a 95 gun with the same power and drives
we ran 4 blade 24p ( I have 2 sets of props)
we re powered and will be going to 4 blade 26p
last year 4000rpm approx 53mph
5000rpm approx 69mph salt water on gps
