intercoolers give u the abilty to make more horsepower by cooling the charge with out more boost u not gaining any real power just forceing the blower to push through the exchanger in the cooler.

I agree, the coolers allow you to add boost, thus hp, but I am also wondering, Like BillR, what the sudden prop issue is. If the blowing out is caused by more torque, as was stated by DT, then why, with that added torque and related HP, has the boat slowed down or remained at the same speed?

curious too. same speed but more RPMs with the same props to me equals more slip.

The prop blow out issues are awlfully strange. Out of curiosity, where are you getting the water for the new intercoolers? Different application but I added Whipple I/C's to my 575SCi's (30' Mystique w/ITS) and to feed them I added a pair of transom mounted pick ups (KE adjustable) and when I did the install, I was nervous about the pick-ups distubing the water ahead of the props. I deliberately placed them as close to the centerline possible to minimize any issues. I also set the depth below the hull with a water pressue gauge to optimize flow while minimizing drag (ended up roughly 1/4" below hull when checked with straight edge). If you added transom mounted pick-ups, could they be too low causing drag (less speed) and/or disrupting flow in front of the props?
Just a thought...
In my application I went from uper 90's to well over 100 with 5#'s boost vs 4#'s prior to the install.

who put them on? what is your water pressure in the innercooler? what kind of water stream do you have coming out of the cooler? what was your boost before and what is it now? were are you getting the water for the cooler? do you have a sea strainer on the cooler?

were the 5 blades labed or not , the only thing else could be loss of boost due to the interference of the intercooler would does ur boost gauge say when your hammering the throttle.
