Default How much to Pay.....

I hope to get some responses to this....
I'm looking at my 1st Cigarette. It's a 1988 31' Bullet. Cabin is in good shape, cockpit in only fair shape with some stains and rips on the back seat. It was recently completely painted fire engine red (deck and hull). Bravo drives in good shape. Trailer in good shape.

The engines are B&M blown 454, with stainless marine exhaust. 1 engine is about 3 years old and the other was just rebuilt. It still needs to have belts, pulleys, etc. to be hooked up. I have not heard either engine run yet and want to know:

What is worth as it sits?

What is worth if he finishes it and we take it out for a test drive?

Where can I get some Cigarette graphics (vinyl) from? (the Cig website only has new boats and apparel and I didn't see anything that would help)

Be carefull, whatever you pay you could still end up dumping in another 40K. Drives & Engines. Unless you do the work yourself.

Sorry, I have a chance to pick up this boat for $30K to $35K

If he puts the Stbd engine back together and we take it out, he may want as much as $40K.

Can anyone help out with some graphics. I want at the least the large Cigarette emblems for the sft section of the hull. I would also like "Cigarette" or "Bullet" on the deck. I think that will be close to the factory graphics.

there are several guys on OSO that can do the stickers for you and they dont cost all that much. do a search in the cig section for "logo" and you will find sources.

As far as the all red Bullet, i know which one your talking about. 30k seams like a fair price for it (if you like red) as long as it passes a marine survey. just my opinion....

If you can get it for that its a ok deal.
If it still has original guages in it and you need any I have a full dash assembly from mine

Make sure to check gimbal rings as they are probably worn. A good additon to the Bullet or any performance deep v would be full to the helm hydraulic steering. Also make sure you get a good survey done

When they go through the hull with a moisture meter make sure he check around the gimals and also the stingers.

Brace yourself was right I would expect to drop a little on it when you get it

5-6k for new vinyl
4k to the helm steering
depending on dash to update to white is pricey.

Alot of guys on her have redone Bulet and it is a worth while project. Alot of tips can be found on the board

Depending on the motors HP you may see the 77 mph range

Good Luck l

Some of you are familiar with the boat. Can you tell me any history? Owned by an older gentleman? The new stbd engine was done because of a broken valve spring? How long has it been for sale? Any known problems? Was it painted to hide anything?

The whole reason I'm looking at it is because I've wanted a Cigarette for a long time and this is about the cheapest I've seen. Thanks for the help guys.
