More like a scam...Justin and I sold that boat a couple months ago to a board member and it went back east. This guy is even using Justins pictures from when he sold it. Also, one owner boat...not....tv vcr...I don't think so. Somethings fishy.

Same thing happened to me last year. I placed an ad on eBay and days after my listing ended, I found my pictures and description listed on two websites for half the price. My boat is documented and the FBI and Homeland Security stepped in and got the guy that perpetrated the fraud. I just listed it here on OSO Classifieds so I will see how it goes. Jordy, my boat might be what you have looking for, right here in AZ . Let me know.

Are these scams aimed at stealing a deposit or something?
And if they are - how would one protect their deposit? Escrow? Sounds like an interesting topic for discussion which would help everybody in the future.

I did see it in the classifieds. Just not sure how much fun finding a Gun locally would be though. I mean, what's the point of buying a new East Coast boat without having to get it from across country???

It's a good looking boat, just not sure I want to deal with blowers.

I bought a corvette on ebay a couple of years ago and lost all my money. i even used an escrow company to hold the money. The escrow company was involved in the scam. The FBI told me the Russian Mafia is behind these large scams. They are very smart and seem to always be one step in front of the FBI. They break in to Ebay and sell these large ticket items on other peoples accts. Cash or check in hand will be my only way for me for now on.
