Default Props for 38TG Non-Step ???

Anyone run something close to this before? Would like to cut to the chase when I get into prop testing next week. Where do you suggest I start and what speed do you think I'll run with this set up? Any other drive suggestions? Stand-off's? Spacers?

I Have 2000 TG no step 650-700HP w/ standoff boxes XR's running 30P at 5500, 82MPH.

Maybe you need 30 or 32!

I was going to start with 30's... I assumed 29-30. But maybe bigger is the ticket.

I'm thinking 30's.....what the hell did you build? Those numbers are up there, but are you going to prop the boat for 6K rpms????
I made peak HP at 5,200 (630HP) and peak TQ at 4,200 (700TQ). Prop'ed the boat for 5,400-5,500. Haven't dialed it in yet but running low 80's on 30P bravos so far.

Everyone is really pleased with the numbers we've turned out. 548CI NA with great head work. Thx to DEI's main guy. All new from the blocks up. Our philospy was to build the motors to handel 1200HP but only ask them to put out 800. I hope to have the boat in the water next week, but so far we look to have a pretty good reliable package. Not sure yet where we plan on propping the boat. Might want to see what nunbers we turn first... I would hope to see mid 80's with this set up. Thoughts?

I would post something in the prop tech section and let the pros help you. With dyno sheets in hand and an idea of what you want out of the boat, Throttle up and BBlades can usually get pretty close on the first try. The both got it right on my re-power on the first try....but those are #6 props.

Good luck!

I had stock 28's with 650 ish HP and we were right on the limiter. You'll need at least 30 bravos and may want to look at some 5 blades and of course extra drives!

my 93 is only 525's and its turning 5000 with labbed 26s

You may see 90s with that power if set up right. Before we detuned our 97 Gun we ran 850+ hp with Max Worx 1.34 ratio ,30 pitch Bravos low to mid 90s after bottom hull work. After 3 blown drives we detuned to 750hp or so and in the heat still ran high 80s GPS.
Good Luck!
