I think I do remember your Cigarette. Did it sit on a rack outside facing the highway right outside the doors to the boatel? I spent a lot time at Bayside during that time as my father was rigging a 16 foot Baja with a 200 merc at the little marina at the top of the hill. I think it was the sleekcraft dealer??? Again i was only 8-9 years old.
Yes, I remember your father's Excaliber, it was a nice looking boat. My 28 Cig was usually inside the boatel unless I was working on it on a rack or I was using it. If it was really a 28, yes it was mine. But there was also sit-down single engine 27Cigarette/Squadron 12 named 'Hustler' that sat on a rack with it's bow facing Route 50. Then in the mid - 80's I had a black hulled Cigarette/Squadron 12 with no no name. A guy named Kenny Boss bought the black 27 and used it on the Chesapeake Bay for a few years.

What a squirrel the guy that owned Puritan was. He lived on the Eastern Shore and kept the boat at his house. He always had trouble with the boat because he knew nothing about it. Later on I heard on the street that he hocked his wifes wedding ring for drugs!!!

Now you are talking about the days that got me hooked on these things. When I was little I would ride my bike a few blocks down the street to Harbor Island just to look at these boats. I always told my friends that I would own a boat like them some day. All of my friends (except Purnell) thought that I was crazy and full of sh*t.

I remember Smokin' Joe, Jenny's Express, Silverado, Silver Dollar, Dollar Bill, Miss Tugo, Geronimo on occasion, Satin Doll, Leathal Weapon, Easy Rider and quite a few others. My favorite was Jenny's Express, especially after it got the wild yellow paint job. These boats are the reason that I am hooked today!

Jenny's Express. C'mon Barry, I know you must have a ton of pictures. Start scanning.

Will - Since at the time I was either riding in or throttling one of those boats and you were just a kid; does that make me an old guy?

I'll e-mail you a couple I have in the office- what's your e-mail again?

Is the "Lethal Weapon" TG referred to above the same one with BIG power that runs currently, or recently ran Lake Murray?

If it is an 1987 TG, then yes it is. I sent Hot Duck some pictures to post, but that is the old paint scheme. When Ron Doller redid it in about 1994, it had a much more flowing, contemporary paint scheme.

Last I saw it was probably 2 years ago, when the owner trailered it to VA for the Jammin' on the James Poker Run. It says 'Lethal Weapon' in big scripted letters down the sides, and has big blower hatches.

wigginout here on OSO knows the owner well.
