I need a raised engine hatch for a 38 flat deck
I just figured out that my new engines are much higher than the last ones. Thats what happens when you get superchargers! Does anyone have a line on a tall engine hatch, and will it fit a 1982 38 Flat deck? I would appreciate any help?

First I have no idea...however...I'd question if a newer cig raised hatch would fit that perfect on a 82 flat deck. Note however these things are like gold...usually in the $10000+ price level if it has the cig oval on it. You'd be better off seeing if you could cut your existing one out and glass in scoops. Probably save you $7000-8000.

ive been searching and searching for staggered engine hatches. No luck at all.
However last night I got an email back from OSO member
hpoffshore. He has a set of the 90mph raised staggered hatch. its not exactly what i am after, but it might be fore you.
I"m going to get him to email me pics if it is the hatch i think it is i wont go ahead but will post the pics on here for you.
If anyone is reading this post and has some ajac hawk style or apache 41 hatches let me know.
Also, dnebo has a beatiful hatch on here which i am also considering buying.

Thanks a lot guys!! I'm putting a pair of 800hp 540's with blowers. I had really high rise intakes with carb spacers before, but I need about 2" more. I'm not sure if I want to put scoops, because of how loud the blowers can be , and I like to cruise long distances. I love the noise, but the lady's don't. I knew it was going to be expensive, but I was just trying to see if anyone had some just laying around. I'll try these leads you guys gave me, thanks a lot!!! Spring is allmost here!! I can't wait to roll!!
Thanks again!!

I used to have a 84 38 Cig. flat deck that I had to raise the hatch due to adding blowers. All you have to do is add a 1"x 2" on end around the outer perimeter of the inside of the hatch and move the hatch hinge location up. I coated mine with epoxy and painted it the same red as the underside of the hatch and it looked factory. The only tricky part is you have to cut the 1"x 2" on the same curve as the hatch for it to fit right. get yourself a 1 x4 or 1x 6 and lay the hatch on end up on the 1x 4 and mark your line of were to cut. This is to ensure the hatch stays the same curve so it fits right. I will and try to find pictures of my old boat so you can take a look.
