Cafe VS Gun

I'm tryin to get a feel for Cig values, I have seen both of the following boats for sale reciently. The match up, 1987 35 Cafe 454 cyclone 420 hp 15hrs pt 10hrs stb rebuilt, trs, lots of new stuff, original graffics, new upholstry, gill exhaust, nice boat, asking 59k mabey take 55 w trailer. VS 1987 38' Gun, new/total rebuild Merlin 588s, no3 drives, bam900 trans,5-6 hrs on power packages, stainless marine exhaust, excellent cond, w trailer asking 59k mabey take a little less? Let me know what you guys think. It seems the gun is the better deal if its apples to apples as far as the condition of power packs and survey.... I'm relitively new to this whole gig so if i've grossly underestimated/overestimated the value of these floaters let me know...

Keep in mind that if anything is wrong with the driveline in the TG, it's going to cost you 2 to 3 times to fix it what the Cafe would.

It would be highly unusual for both boats to have nothing more than "checkout time" on fresh repowers. Most people don't freshen up right before the dump a boat.

Where atre you at or shopping? You need someone with some experience to guide you through this... unless you can afford to make a $10, $20 or $30 thousand dollar mistake.

$30K on the very low end. I've seen a couple of six figure mistakes by guys who "thought" they knew what they were looking at.

Hey, I'll heed all the suggestions. The only boat I'm serious about right now is the 38' flat deck and I'm still doing my home work. I'm being VERY careful. I believe I have taken the right steps so far and I will NOT buy if I dont get that warm and fuzzy feeling.. And, I do not have an extra 30k just sitting around for a avoidible mistake so I'll listen w consideration. Thank you...
