Any way you look at it these boats just seem to suck more money out of you then you ever think.

That is the BEST advise given!

Be prepared to shell it out and not worry about what you WILL have to pay for next, because there is always something else needed!!!!

Everyone is different but I just can't see putting over 100K into a flat bottom when there are TS Gun's out there for a little more. But you're the only one that you have to make happy. If the boat really call's to you then do it.

Agreed - To me, if the cabin is really important to you, that that TG that Tres has for sale would certainly make for a great boat, if the cabin isn't important to you go with the T/S so you get the efficiency, resale, value, performance, etc.....

The reason I like it is because it has big power and drives, but on the other hand, it is antiquated technology.

I love the transmission drives though. THey are so smooth when you are shifting, and they just don't break very often once they are put together correctly.

I am not sure. I like the speed of them, but I still like that solid conventional feel.

The TS boats also are a lot better on fuel etc. overall.

I redid a 98 flat bottom.... it was a mistake. The old hulls will always drop in value at a faster rate than the twin stes. Also when you go to resale, you will have a bigger audience wit hthe twin step. ican't speak for everyone, but my opinion is buy the newer twin step if you can and make small changes to fit your style and enjoy the boat. natures habit is you will try and make the flat bottom a twin step with all the new goodies, and that will cost morethan a twin step as is today...
