Question '05 39' Cigarette Top Gun

just saw a this boat on Ebay

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...AQ:MOTORS:1123

- have a couple of concerns -

1. the seller has only ONE feedback in history
2. asked the seller a question 2 days ago and still have not received a response (auction ends today)

Does anyone know this boat? I'm a cat owner with egg beaters, so vhulls & inboards are new to me. I'm interested in the deep v's as I was looking for a smoother ride offshore (back surgery is a killer). Plus, figured vhull would be easier to clean then climbing under a tunnel every outing (wife doesn't help - it takes me 2-3 hours to clean).

have lot's more general questions, but I'll start with this -
P.S. read the cigarette forums yesterday - about 11 pages until my eyes fell out!

Looks like a sweet boat...They only made a few (like 3) of the center steer styles. Some people like them, some dont. This is probably one of the first 3 or so 39's they built. Don't know the boat personally but one thing I did notice, if you end up bidding/buying, I'd check the hull. From the pictures it looks as if the boat is sitting on a hoist that has not properly been fitted for a stepped bottom. This can cause damage to the hull.

Hey thanks for the tip on the lift, never would have thought of that. The 15 hours is what makes me want this thing, beside the boat itself, and the reliable power of the 525.

That is a neat boat - and if I ever run into money and can step up would be one of the ones I would want and here is why - I believe that is one of 3 with the Enclosed head. I will always own a boat with an enclosed head - my wife will make sure of that!!!

I can't comment on market value of a 39. Not sure what the premium is over a 38.

A nice NEW Myco or Manning (which that boat deserves) will be 15k....

Well the same boat was relisted for the 2nd time, it didnt sell and highest bid was 130,100 no trailer, 15 hours. I dont get it, how couldnt this boat not sell as it seems perfect ?
Is it because the newer models come with bigger power and better drives making the smaller 525s less desirable.
I no guessing does no good but what is this boat worth today. What would you offer 4 this boat and trailer is still needed. This is also the newest ,low hour and cheapest cig 39 ive found and it still doesnt sell. I see dealers with same boat asking a 100 thousand more, i will asume they will never sell those.
i wont say the manufacturer on this forum as i dont wont to upset or start war but i saw a 2007 42' rhymes with ton, with 525s, low hour for less money then this cig. i am confused. Any opions are welcome

Never understood why people call it that! I prefer to have a woman riding shot-gun with me.
