FORMULA 382 FASTECH
Bullet VS Outlaw

Hey guys, A good buddy of mine has a 2007 30ft Baja Outlaw. I recently purchased my 1992 31 Cigarette Bullet. We are in a performance/handling debate between the two boats. Its all in good fun, but I would like some outside input on the subject, so I figured you guys could help us out. I will be posting this on the Baja thread also, just to be fair. Heres some specs....30 Outlaw 375 HP 496's. Boat does 75 MPH..... Bullet has 2 525 Hawks w/ bravo's. Dont know how fast it will be. Need to freshen engines over the winter. Any feedback on how these boats will fair against each other will be appriciated. Thanks for your help.

Cigarette - Cafe Racer
Keep in mind - Your boat will run faster in 3 foot waves than in calm water - You have a good shot of tapping 75 with 525HP. I am guessing you'll need to spin 4 blade 24's but some of the bullet guys probably have a much better clue. If you have 550 HP I think you could top 75 fairly consistently.

Two different boats, I will prove it. How many people are out buying 16 year old Baja's and redoing them???? The Baja will be faster in flat water because it weighs less. The Bullet will crush the Baja in 3 footers +, My guess is a 6900lbs Outlaw will be all over the place and run very loose in rough water, therefore it won't be able to maintain those levels of speed. Now for the Bullet owners what is the ride difference in a Bravo vs. TRS?

I cant give you a number but Baja's do get redone a fair amount of times. I can give links to numerous threads in which these projects have taken place. No doubt a Cig will hold its value longer, but also is a bit more investment to get into. I think styling is all personal preference and pocketbooks.

1988 Cigarette Bullet
Baja is faster, Cig is better in the rough stuff.
I believe the Cig is built better. I also personally like both the styling and the interior layout of the Bullet better. And I just LOVE correcting someone that says "you own one of those cigarette boats?" and I tell them No, I own an offshore boat made by the Cigarette Racing Team!

However, Baja's are built well by production standards.
