I see what your saying now I have seen ujoints blow and blow the gimbal housings apart. This has to be so rare but it is good to be on the safe side. I wear the kill switch in my fountian because of the low sides And its a center Console I was almost throwin out of that thing.

I think we have all walked away from the wheel at some point in our lives. It's amazing the things you can learn from posts like this. Nice boat!

I do,Sometimes I go down into the cabin to make a sandwich ,but I make sure there is no other boats around for a few miles..I feel better now seeing I am not alone on this....

I have actually gone to the bathroom but my boat isn't as fast as your so I did not cover as much distance.

Who has a twin engine boat without a tie bar? I have been in a side by side setup and lost a motor because of faulty ignition harness and I can tell ya that tie bar isn't going to do chit.
It is your boat and nobody around so do as you wish but I am just pointing out that your confidence associated with the tie-bar isn't really all that valid. Pull your kill lanyard for one side at 50mph and see what happens..
