Yup........Engine access is tough. You need 2" diameter by 4' long arms to work in a 28's engine compartment .

Miss Cigarette has a new caretaker. I will give her the TLC that she deserves. Thanks for all the great information and advise, especially to NORTHERNOFFSHORE who gave me the little extra encourgement that i needed to pull the trigger. Lake St. Clair will be her new home for now.

Man............those brown stains on your transom could be an indication of transom rot. Not trying to poke at your boat, just don't want to see your boat end up at the bottom of the lake.

The guy needs to do himself a favor and swap them for some stock small block 350 mags....

Congratulations on buying the boat !! If the cams in it now are solid rollers cams , it might be smart to switch over to Hydraulic style. You could eliminate the constant valve lash maintenance and possible bleed off some compression and get back down to 93 oct.. It can be done without removing the engine in about 4 hours,(there are cam removal holes I cut into the rear bulkhead for this) I used 480 480 230 230 cams that were not rollers and worked great. If not ,just learn how to do the valve lash and basic stuff, small blocks are pretty easy to work on once the exhaust is removed. Good luck with the boat.

Thanks again for all of the input. The survey went well, boat is dry and solid throughout and all rigging looks good as well. I was unable to sea trail yesterday as all of the docks have been pulled and it was too cold and windy. the guy I bought it from said that it ran on pump fuel so i am not to worried about the motors being too radical for me. Even if i have to put different cams in it to make it more reliable shouldn't be a problem escpecially if the motors don't have to be pulled, I did see the cam removal holes in the bulkhead but couldn't figure out what they were for, thanks again to northernoffshore for that info. I sure do like the grab rails and the fairing you made for it. I highly recommend Dennis Biel Marine Surveyors of Harrison Twp, very knowledgeable about performance boats<a href="http://www.freeimagehosting.net/c68e5"><img src="http://www.freeimagehosting.net/newuploads/c68e5.jpg"></a><a href="http://www.freeimagehosting.net/4f0a2"><img src="http://www.freeimagehosting.net/newuploads/4f0a2.jpg"></a<a href="http://www.freeimagehosting.net/95f0f"><img src="http://www.freeimagehosting.net/newuploads/95f0f.jpg"></a<a href="http://www.freeimagehosting.net/807bc"><img src="http://www.freeimagehosting.net/newuploads/807bc.jpg"></a<a href="http://www.freeimagehosting.net/d2f64"><img src="http://www.freeimagehosting.net/newuploads/d2f64.jpg"></a>
