Default Flat Deck Hull Layup

I am about to begin some fiberglass repairs on my 1985 Kevlar 38 Cigarette Flat Deck. I was wondering if anyone knew for certain if the Kevlar boats were laid up using polyester resin or did Cigarette use something else like vinylester. I have left email at Cigarette but if any one here knows if would be helpful, as I don't want mix materials by mistake.
Thanks Rick G.

Rick not certain about what resin Cigarette used in conjunction with your Flat deck, but (today) polyester would be an inferior choice resin for kevlar (aramid fiber) .....mimimal I would use Vinylester, it is touted to be just as good as epoxy, in some cases better....let the experts chime in.

What going on with the Magnum 27 sport?

Just spoke to Cigarette Racing team and they tell me it would have been Vinylester resin, so vinylester it is. Scippy as for the 27 sport , I have been accumulating parts and plan to start on it this spring. Want to get the flat deck in tip top shape first. I will post pictures as I go along.

I hear that and that's what we were told doing the race boat. We went with epoxy and it worked great - rough water racing and no cracks. I would use epoxy again.
