Default Outdrive Positioning

Gentleman , as I move my project along , the next big decision is how far apart to set my drives. The boat is a side by side Flat Deck as most are aware . The drives are currently spaced 36.125 inches apart. I have had varing opinions as to how close I can set them without having serious issues mounting exhuast and hatch rams. I am currently running tubular headers . Does anyone know what the topgun drive distance is, at the lreast what your boat is running for power and how close your drives are?
Thanks In advance. RG.

ICDEDPPL . thanks I need the distance from center of one drive to other . The easiest place to measure would the distance between the grease fittings at the top of your gimbals . I am guessing it is some where between 36 and 34 inches.

Rick... as close as possible... we discussed what we have to do with engines on floor... see how close you can actually get them... 34" would be great if we can get it

My hawk is 34". Which will leave 1/2" between my Cmi sport tubes. I have std deck blocks and stock gm heads. My flat deck was also 34" but they had to dent the headers with the big chief heads and tall decks.
