Default velvet drive trans

So today I got to take my cig out with new power and new konrad drives . The power is high 700 well it was all good till the trans started slipping and went out . So my question is what do i do rebuild them ? Change to a better style ? Upgrade clutch disc ? Give me advise on what to do . And is there a left and right ?

Hi Kennyd , first off there is no right or left . The counter rotation is in the drive . The stock BW tranny has 7 forward clutches and 3 reverse . Given your horse power I would suggest that you upgrade to 9 forward clutches . This can be done without serious modification of your existing tranny's .

i read that the velvet drive has selectable rotation on the front of the trans. that you match to your engines rotation by unscewing the pump and tuning it to the desired position.

Jaxon in this particular application you don't want to do that as the engines both rotate in the same direction . The drives rotate in different directions . If you don't put the pumps back together exactly as you disassembled them you will not have any oil pressure and will hurt the tranny.

I have a pair of C72 plug in transmissions that have been upgraded by my engine builder (Steve Conniff builds engines, transmissions, and drives and has his own 100+ MPH non step Fountain Executioner) These have 30 very gentle hours on them. $600 each plus shipping.

Hubber marine upgraded mine to 9 forward clutches and tapped the case to add a line to lube the rear of the trans.
