When the straight bottom cigs struggle to go 80 the stepped boats with 525's do it with ease. So the straight bottom boats are just not running the same speeds for the same amount of time. Meaining I had a straight bottom 39cig that struggled to go 83mph with 900's and 4's, I rarely went top speed due to the wear and tare. Then I had a stepped 42 tiger with 525efi and rarely ever went anywhere under 80, it just did it effortlessly.
This boat either had a mechanical failure, or the driver banked a hard turn at speed.
What? Apples aren't oranges, "ride better" ? Your talking a 39 w 900s and 4s acrummy slow setup, and comparinbg that at the same time with a step tiger, and none of that has anything to do with a step gun. The step gun hull has been spun at slow speeds, with no mechanical failures, in the past. It can be avoided, but not by the proper placement of a warning decal.

Very cool and smooth salvage operation in the video in post 1. This is fresh water so with immediate servicing and taking apart the interior to dry she should be fine.

Not detracting from the captains ability but my guess would be a slow sweeping turn and a lil too much air got under it. **** happens. Really? How many times have your boats gone nuts and dropped a tab or drive? Not too common. I've seen this boat in person and she was beautiful. It is sad...

I was there that day and was tied up about 4 boats over. was checking it out be for we went to dinner and saying how nice of a boat it was. it is sad but the good thing is that no one was hurt. that is the crazy thing about what we all love, any thing can happen at any time to any one of us. thanks to the other good boaters that rushed out to help one being a friend of ours. that just shows how boaters r good people and look out for each other.
