Yep. They do NOT like flat water. But then again, that's not what they're built for. They ain't little lake boats!

I had a 2000 straight bottom... drove me nuts with the amount of tab input I had to give it in flat water. I had to bury the tabs to keep the boat from looking and riding ridiculous... hated it.
In the ocean, well that was a different story

Do you have a full cabin? What props are you running? Turning them in or out?

no more porpoising...ran the boat today with 26 pitch..5 blade hydro's P5 X's...boat ran perfect...didn't have to use any tab..will be trying 5 blade hydro P 5's 27 pitch to see how it will react to those...boat ran 80mph at 5000 rpm...there was more left in it, but want to experiment again.. and didn't want to break anything like xr drives.

What power package? Fresh or salt water? I'd think 5 blades would be too much on a strait bottom XR drive. What difference did you see with the 5 blade? I have 4 blade 26's & get 73 in fresh water. 525 EFI's & XR's.

salt water in south florida.I needed the five blades to stop the nose from bouncing up and down .four blades is probably faster but I had to run tabs to number 5 on the indicator to stop it from bouncing and that slowed it down 5-7 mph at cruise. power is 750 hp sc xr swep back drives 1.35 gears......
