About twenty years ago David asked me if I could take him, his wife and young son out on my boat at Desert Storm. He wanted to get a boat but wanted to make sure his wife and son would like boating. They did and he ended up buying a 32' Envision Illusion.
He wanted to take it to Catalina but had never run in the ocean before so he asked me if I would go with him and show him the ropes of running in the big blue. I drove the boat over and explained how to operate the boat and read the water. It was pretty flat that day so wasn't a great time for a lesson but he got the hang of it and drove back.
When he got the Cigarette I went to take a look at it and he told me he was selling the Envision. I was boatless at the time so decided to buy it from him. Had some troubles with the engines but it was a really nice boat. I sold it a few years later (Headed out in a couple weeks to pick up a new to me Formula Fastech).
I hadn't seen David since I retired and moved out of the area about 6 years ago. Guess I should get better at staying in touch with old friends. RIP David.
