Sticking with the XR's but going to see how testing goes, might need to change the lowers. The pipe tips internal flappers were shot so those are getting swapped out with some bullet mufflers with flaps. Once the ass end is done she is getting fitted with a new billet swim platform too. We have about 5 different props to test and are going to try spinning IN too. It's going o be a fun spring.

Ended up loosing a couple of MPH top end but the hole shot is a lot better. No real difference between spinning in or out so let it out for better handling around the docks. The addition of mufflers over the straight pipes made conversations and stereo much better but it quieted her a little more than I had hoped. Finally just finished the SeaDek on the platform and all in all very happy with the mods.
May need to try some shortie lowers next time something breaks. With the addition of the ITS boxes, I think the wheels are a little deep now.

Maybe but moving the drives back farther definitely impacted where the waterflow is hitting the prop. The boxes also added weight to the transom and moved the weight of the drives out further so they are probably riding significantly deeper. Then again I am a newbie at this so I might be wrong.

I am the proud new owner, found the Playboy from Sweden last fall where it has spent the last years, somewhat neglected.
The boat was in pretty rough shape, but managed to bring her back last winter. The 500EFI’s were fully rebuilt along with the XR’s. The prochargers are gone, so the boat is back in its original spec how it left the factory. Many hours of polishing, fixing, renewing parts etc. and now she is presentable again.
