I joined the forum in order to learn a bit more about my interest and eventually get a nice v hull to replace my RIB. Careful studying of the threads, pointed me toward the cigarette mistress, for various reasons, mainly the claims of good rough sea handling and the clean low profile lines. I would like diesel due to living in Greece where there are no people to maintain high output gas engines. The thoughts of diesel lead me to think of arnesons and some nice apaches gave me ideas on how to make the cabin lighter.
Would a mistress with about 400hp lightweight diesels (e.g. 6.5 marine diesel) and some asd8's, gutted half cabin, minimal electrics and other lightening mods (i read the mistress is heavy) be a feasible project? I am going to take it step by step and do one thing at a time and i am aware of the rot issues on such old boats. I plan to start with a running boat, not redone and keep it very basic. I have too many ideas running thru my head, so some help would be appreciated.
