Cougar 41'
Does anyone have pics of this Cougar in Seahawk version?
It seems that was the last Cougar for Sal Magluta. Magluta maybe drove it in some(one only?) races in 1987.

There were two Seahawk Aluminum Cougars..... That one and a 36'...... The 36 was the one that Magluta raced.... Willie Falcon ran the one in your picture I recall.
The 36 was unique in that it was the first with an aluminum tubular substructure , like a race car. The previous aluminum Cougars had traditional channel bulkhead and stringer construction.
Brownie can elaborate far better than I on this topic.....

T2x,the boat of which you speak was the 38', the first cat that Magluta bought from Rodriguez in 1984. When the 36' was ready' Magluta continued to race on this last one and the 38' become the boat of Falcon. Then in the 1987 arrived a third cat Cougar,a 41.'

I don't remember the 3rd hull.... doesn't mean it didn't exist...I just don't recall it. I also don't recall a 41' hull. My recollection is that the Collection/Cougar/Sea Hawk boat (same Hull) was a 38 footer. That and the 36 were only two Seahawk cats I remember.

You are right, the most famous Seahawks cats were the 38' The Collection/Seahawk and starting from 1985 the little 36'.
Crouse in the last pages of Searace spoke about a 41' Cougar that had to be driven by Magluta after his 36' had been seriously damaged in the 1987 New Orleans race.
This didn't happen because' Magluta had brought such wounds to forced him to stop racing for some time.
It seems that 41' was drove by Willie Falcon that year.
In the same 1987 the old 38' became Team Kaze and in 1988 was bought by the Franchman Marret and the cat went in Europe renamed Divin.
The 36' apparently was destroyed.
That 41' was drove by Steve Curtis with the old Seahawk's crew Jay and Lorenzo in the 1987's Key West World Championships giving the first Title to a British.
After that race the cat became Bengal Bay Club for Kobayashi in the 1988's US season.
I know it's a very muddled story and I hope that you can understand me in spite of my bad English.

Marco i raced both Divin's with Maret,
The one of Malguta was the most lethal cat I ever raced.........
You spent most of the race peering out of your crash hat at 90 degrees to your head, over 50 it just tried tio rip your head of and was a ***** for hooking and nose diving, think the best we did was 4th in Viareggio in 88...
The Chris Craft of '87 was amazing, won 16 races including World Cup in Porto Cervo, and finished first class 2 in C/T/C only 14 seconds behind Fruitier in the Cougar ROCKY
