Thanks To Charlie McCarthy
The next edition of Extreme Boats Magazine will feature another of Charlie's great stories. This one is about his friend Don Aronow.
The text, the photos and even an update from Skip Braver made this into what I believe is our finest moment yet.
Thanks Charlie, can't wait to work on the next story with you.
This issues comes out of the printers today. We'll hand some out at the Sunsation Rally on Saturday. Otherwise, subscribers will receive them in a week or three. Depends on how long it takes your mailman to read it.

Ron, I would like to thank Extreme Boats Magazine for publishing the stories and photos from the old days.
I was just fortunate to happen to be around at that time and could rub elbows with some great people.
We are so lucky to have guys like Brownie, Richie Powers, Steve Sirois, Bobby Saccenti and others who are writing about the actual races they were in back then, on the HORBA site. www.historicraceboats.com
The boats of today perform as well as they do, because these guys were willing to go to sea to test the breaking point in boats and engines.

I'll keep subscribing if Mr. Mcarthy , Mr. Saccenti, Mr. Powers and Mr. Brown contribute.
Real racing in real conditions. Having to actually know how to navigate and work on your own boat when it breaks down
seems kind of relevant if you are running a boat.
I've seen way too many people shut down a trip offshore if the iGPS takes a dump.
Rock on!
Jim

What a cool article Charlie - that was well so written I felt like I was there. What struck me as super interesting was your description of 188th Street and the Formula building -
Just the fact the Don built his own plant and had all that you described going on inside after only a couple of months of being involved in the game make it so clear that in only a year's time, more or less, he had already accopmlished more than most have ever accomplished in their entire boating lives.
How lucky you were to experience that back then. That article was great.

This is a little "off-topic", but what's the relation between "Charlie McCarthy" and the Miami Vice Episode of the same title?
Thanks,
Mike

Just read the Article it was friggin great.
Between Charie and Brownie a book should be written or just keep writing a monthly colum until there is enought to be put into a book.
