SuperNova 19 / Nova24 Raceboat
A Nova Marine 24 that needs help

Just got a email from a SN19-C/W friend. It seems in his travels he has run across something of a historical project in Florida.
Here's the email.
I am a Donzi Nut and have a small bit of knowledge of the Nova Boats. The 1966 Donzi barrel back we are just finishing up was done by Mike Brown which is Allan "Brownie" Brown's son. The reason for the email is I saw a rough 24 foot Nova on Highway 441 in mid Florida between Mt Dora and Orlando Fl. It was sitting on the side of the road and is accessible for viewing. The trailer is there. No motors or out drives but a lot of good parts still with the boat. The sign says $1000 or best offer. I thought someone might want to save the ole girl or at least get some needed parts off her. I thought the originals were inboards instead of I/O's but it looks to have holes for Volvo out drives. Hope I can help and if you or anyone interested in your group would like pics or the phone # will be glad to help. I believe I have a few pics included with this email. Tom Bawsel 256-777-**** ( I have the # for serious inquires only). Maybe someone can return the favor and keep your eyes out for old Donzis between the size of 14 and 22 ft in any condition and price.

If you are looking for a challenge and a piece of history this is right up your [s]alley[/s] Thunder Boat Row. It needs a lot of work but for some of you it wold be a walk in the park. Just think what this boat would do with a couple 454's with Bravos or Volvo's on the back. What fun would that be!
So take a look around at how much space you have and ask yourself if you are up to the challenge. If so you will not be sorry. There is only about 5 of these boats still on the water with another half dozen in various states of restoration. Even if they all were on the water the chances of ever seeing one where you boat is slim to none. Or basically you would have a one of a kind.

I know, I know, I'm a jack ass. Sorry Brownie. Craig over on Donzi straightened me out. In my defense I own a 19' so these 24's through me every time. Got to look for the docking lights.

O.K. with out anything better to do with it who wants to build a race boat? I got the chain saw.
