Kaama surface drives

What's the deal with these? Good? Bad? I'm looking at a boat that has them, I've never seen them, have no experience with them. What are the pros and cons of these. If they are great, why don't all boats have them. If they are crap, what makes them bad? Educate me, please.

Thanks!

they are awsome. i love mine.rated for 600 hp but can handle more. straight gears, less moving parts. some people complain about swimming and the props but its always a good idea to stay away from props when swimming anyway.Tha prop is less than half way under the water when on plane so the through a huge rooster tail !!! They do trim up and down and side to side. It is getting tough to find casings . gears seals bearings are available. Bruce
