US MUSL if you ever get a chance, could you get a close up shot of 1 of your wing plates with tie bar assy. I would like to add an extra tie bar to the middle of mine.

This isn't really a "classic boats" question. general boating would yield you much more answers. The technology on external steering really isn't any different today than it was 30 years ago.

jhiguy377 did ask questions in the General Q&A and you and I were the only 2 responses. Apparently not to many people are running hydraulic setups on TRS's.
US MUSL Thanks! I will have to make a few more pairs this winter. Has anyone here mentioned you have a SWEET A$$ ride!!!

Mine originally came with TRS/PS from the factory ('80), which was replaced in '82 by what I was told is called a "hydraulic assist" system. Still had the Rotary helm, but had dual external Latham rams which the factory PS pump pushed. It served it's purpose safety wise but was so hard to turn (couldn't turn with 1 hand) that docking and just plain driving the thing was a pain. This yr I upgraded to full hydraulic, and I'm pissed that I didn't do it 2 yrs ago!* I just added a cher lynn helm, hub adapter and lines. It's not cheap (cost less for me, just used the old rams) but it's worth EVERY penny, believe me.

US MUSL,
thanks so much for the close ups; that's precisely what I needed to see, I really appreciate it. - Jeff
P.S. any other details about your system that you can share will be much appreciated.
