Charlie, about the first 36' I'm referring to that posted above by Topprop.
About the story of the Slap Shot I'm referring to that #2 white?(it's a pic in B/W) in your HORBA site.
Two different 36'.

Marco...this 36 footer is the one that Don and Jim Wynne ran in Florida, many years after the boat co was started....as you can see by the photo, the boat was actually a pleasure version( no bolsters) ..... and they just had civilian type lefe vests on for the race.
BTW, this is the only race ever won by Don in a"Cigarette" made boat.

Ok Charlie. You are probably right.
The fact remains that was enough to modify the deck to make to become that pleasure 36' in a 36' for competition.
However it doesn't derive from my imagination the fact that Norris purchased a 36' from Aronow that had prepared for returning to race himself.
Crouse affirms it in his Searace.
I wanted only to hypothesize that it was really that 36' with Wynne.

Charley: 'Trivia'?--The second place finisher in that race was another 36' wide body, another "Charles" driving and a couple 'real' boat racers on board-----??
