He worked for The Collection in '83 for Jack Stutteville and Joey Rodrigues and went to Popeye's in '84 for Al Copelend and Bill Sirios. The 50' Popeye's wasn't delivered until 1983, I think it was the Coral Gables Challenge Cup in Sagatuck, Michigan where it made it's debut.

I Remember Howard from when I worked at Cougar, He drove the truck, Right? who was the other guy on the team (Arneson) who went on to build Jaguars for Jack, always had a pencil behind his ear, was that you?

Flying, the white Flap Jack was the second 38' of Quam and then it became the first 38' for Toleman in 1980.
The dark Flap Jack was the former Copper Kettle of Satullo(first 38 built in Kevlar) and Glass. Then it became Satisfaction for Clauser. Then became the third Flap Jack 38'.In that boat lost him life Miles John during the Bacardi Trophy of 1980.

fastdonzi,
Yes, Howard did drive the Arneson truck. I was not the guy you were thinking of with the pencil. Maybe Terry Laughlin? Did you work with Peter and Steve at Cougar?

fastdonzi,
Here is a picture of the Arneson truck that Howard drove. I went through the south side of Chicago during rush hour traffic with Howard at the wheel, and he drove that thing like you would drive a compact car, it was amazing. The other picture is him on the 38' Cougar at the 1982 Benihana Grand Prix in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ.
Sincerely,
John

Flapjack Bertrams
Got my pics mixed up BT,again. That red/white boat should have been marked up 1979,and as you say it went on to become Toleman`s boat.
Your comment that the black boat was ex-Copper Kettle makes sense.I haven`t got a pic of Satisfaction either.
Marco, did you get my `e` mail the other day re the CUV cat info for 1999?

Arneson 1982
Hey Guys,
Here's a picture from the top of the truck which had an observation deck on top, and a shot of the Arneson surface drives.
