T2x,

Considering the boat is the same size as a Mystic (not sure about the weight difference)

How do you think the boat would do today with 4 1500 HP Sterlings or twin Turbines?

You are right (If i hit the lotto) I did here it was in Japan...I was curious how it would compete against today boats.

Considering its roughly the same size as a Mystic, could it compete with the same power?

I also heard that Steve at Legacy Marine was going to do a restoration on the boat...not sure what happened with that...

Your best bet on info would be T2x and George Linder they are the master minds behind it except for the Batten program they never liked that from the beginning if I remember correctly......

Is somebody seriously thinking of restoring/reviving the JJ 48? If this is correct, then please let me know. I would be very interested to talk with the restoration "team" about this. I have some ideas to consider. Post your address here (or PM me) and I will respond to that. Thanks in advance.

To my knowledge there are no restoration plans...... But things change.

Without the original rudders, gear boxes, drives, and props, I think any restoration would be a waste of time and money. They were a major part of what made the boat so unique.

I was going through alot of things I had in storage recently and I came across some of the original drawings we did for the paint job on the 48..
If someone does decide to "restore" her, I would be interested in talking to them.
