Good point,, but just run 3 outboards. Back in the day another local Michigan guy Mike Novik owner of the P-555 First -A-Fence tried to run 4 on his 32' Skater. When he removed the fourth outboard she ran much better.

He purchased the boat less the motors. IDEA: Start with a pair of 300x's and when you recover from the large hole in your bank account, add a third 300.
Hey Smokey,
I didnt paint it, I think retro will be cool, Thinking of going back to the origional paint scheme and perhaps sticker it up
I would love to get a copy of the video
Hey T2X,
I bought it without motors, being new to egg beaters, Im looking for advice on what to do here....the gill brackets seem pretty cool...I am guessing they must act like standoff boxes on an IO....also trying to keep the project affordable

The outboard Chris-Cats actually ran a lot better with the motors on the transom instead of the Gil brackets. The first year (1984) all of the outboards were on Gil brackets. Boat was better balanced and MUCH better in rough water with the engines right on the transom, IMHO. The early boats didn't have the molded transom well, however, so you are probably going to have to stick with the brackets.
Forget about the four engines since two in the tunnel doesn't let the air escape out the back, and as a result you will hardly pick up any performance over three engines (just a LOT more headaches, again IMHO).
Best of luck with your project, and have a lot of fun with it!
