27ft Aronow Cat - Vanilla Ice

First I've ever seen one of these. Anybody know anything about them? Good/Bad? I'm not looking to buy, but maybe if I had the oppurtunity. I like the wide beam.

The 24 was the only true cat and ran pretty well. The 27 and 39 were split-vees, and were quite slow, but good rough water boats. We sold them for a while in the early 90's, and I had a 24 with twin 2.4 carb bridgeports that ran 90-plus, but it could start to be a handful at that speed.

Wow, this thing is still for sale? There is a thread 3-years-long over on 'Scream and Fly' about this boat.
Definitely unique.

Actually, this may be a different owner....... After reading the ad I see it is now in FL. It was in L.I. for a while before that.
I thought these split-V hulls were originally designed for the Navy Seals, can anyone confirm that?

The boat was owned by a guy named Eric out of Freeport, Long Island. He had it on Scream and Fly and ultimately sold the boat to the current owner who is in Florida. The boat almost immediately went back up for sale. It's been on eBay a few times already, with no success.

I have a picture that my Dad took at the Miami Boat Show in 1990 of this boat with Vanilla Ice driving it. He was taking delivery of it at the time. Wow that seems like a long time ago now!!!!!

27 Cat Vaniilla Ice
Thats my old boat , I sold it to a guy in Florida, Its a great boat , handles rough water great , not as slow as everybody thinks, not bad when it was flat out , I guess the only thing of concern would be crappy gelcoat on the bottom , it had a few blisters, It never really bothered me , but it was a little bumpy, I think the guy I sold it too put newer motors in it , My wife is pretty pissed off I sold it, She will get over it sooner or later. I now have a 37 aronow V-bottom for sale , Hull only , $ 12K , its very , very nice.
