RumRunner (Sutphen)

Thought I would throw this out there. Picked up a basket case '83' and started a make over on a nice old school boat. Bought the boat contingent on the engines cranking and it was missing a drive. Well, they cranked and that was about all. Now they have been through top to bottom by my local Mercruiser magician Kevin Brady, this guy is a no BS show you whats wrong and fix it kind of guy. If he does it you can bet there haven't been any shortcuts or crappy work. If you need a mercruiser from mild to wild he's the man. New Comp extreme marine cams, intakes, crossover's, etc. Boat had a few neat features but had been cut on at some point on the back deck for different exhaust. Jack Barsh at Full Throttle Power Boats is working his magic on making everything right to get it in the water for spring. A new paint scheme hopefully will come along before fall. The pics can't explain what we have ended up doing to this thing and I hope to have her in the water in about two weeks here in Jacksonville. So for everyone that thinks a Sutphen is just a fire truck here you go.

That thing's more about setting "fires" than putting them out. Great hull - please post the photos as the project progresses!

Nice boat. A friend had one with a BIG singl and it ran in the mid 90's with no drama.
Good luck and keep the pics coming.

He was running an 800 HP single, it was the "Boxer" boat. Ran like it was on rails. I believe the actual top end was 96 or 97 mph.

87 rum runner

No haven't really advertised it yet. I need to pul the oil injection it has an alarm that goes off periodically but everything appears to be working. guy I picked it up from was premixing anyway in addition to the injection. Boat is beautiful though. All original no rips or tears or stains, interior looks phenomenal. fenomenol..phenominol..yeah ok...lol.... Northern boat, fresh water only, and I even got a copy of the NOV 86 original invoice.
