How to find a 38 Scarab built in 1979?
I am looking for a 38' Scarab that was built in 1979 from Larry Smith.
I have ZERO idea where to start since I dont have any of the numbers.
My Mother dated a guy who bought and raced the boat in local events for a few years , and the boat was rigged at KAAMA til 1984.
I was thinking about buying one and building it , but since so much of my childhood was centered around this thing , I figured I would try to find this after reading about all the restorations going on this website.
Any Ideas?

Rob: We really need an idea of what name/number/sponsor etc of the boat. There were a number of 38 Larry Smith Scarabs out there from that time frame. Get a copy of the book Searace by John Crouse and look through it. The book may be available through HORBA- check website.
Larry Smith designed and built the Scarabs which Wellcraft licensed the name and molds from him. But Larry Smith built the race hulls as far as I know.
Was the boat your looking raced as Kaama or just rigged by them.?
Wannabe
