Default SuperNova 24 is back!

May not have motors in it yet but after decals yesterday it sure looks a lot closer to being done and it's officially the race boat again.

Sadly no unless you have a set of left and right rotating 427 ford side oilers that you are willing to donate.

Wouldn't it be easier to use two Rights and use a different prop? Does the Vdrive care which way it spins?

Brownie you have me scratching my head here.
One motor in front, one in back, tail to tail going to a single V drive in the center. If they both spun left, when tail to tail, they would end up spinning opposite of each other would they not? I thought you needed a clockwise motor and CCW motor so when they are tail to tail they would spin in the same direction. That’s what Ferd and I came up with.

PS Thanks folks for the comments.

Wait a minute. Ferd did tell me you had a “crash box” on one motor or something like that. Maybe that had something to do with the rotation thing. At the moment it’s getting a set of counter rotating MerCruiser (not much left of the MerCruisers besides the name plate) 454’s with 1 to 1, Velvet drives on each. That may explain things…I think.

Mark, Can you spin the input shafts on the Vdrive by hand? Do they both spin the same way? I would think you would want both motors to spin opposite of each other to cancel out rotational torque. You Can make it better than it was since technology today is better than the late 60's. The General "Tandem" Concept will be the same but the Hardware to do it will be better.
