It was basically a newer version of the old original 28' Openfish. He had TNT in North Miami rig the first and maybe the second and then went out and had someone else do it after that. I think he then found out how had it is to be in the boat business and got out.

The boats were marketed by an old Aronow family friend, Jay Buscigleo. The hull mold was the old 32' Midnight Express borrowed from Byng. The molds are now at Apache/ McMannus. There is one for sale... the original 32. It was on ebay a few weeks ago. Great boat.

Wow Todd, Jay Busciglio, there's a name from the past. Years ago together we flew up to the New York boat show on my buddy's jet. In the it's a small world category, he told me he was once partners with Stan Brunner, who I bought my first Cigarette from. A few years later, we were test driving a Hawk 50 out of Maule lake and went by Jay's concrete houseboat 'Bank Shot' and I asked why it was in such disrepair. That's when Jay told me Stan passed away from a brain tumor.

Not to digress but does that say "powered by Daytona diesel"? If so, it's a V engine like a GM Toro-Flow, that would be very cool!

I think so a tubro charged Toro-Flow

I am pretty sure Nicky Chapman built the boat. Knocky rigged it with the GM Diesel, and Don set a Diesel record, 1969---Brownie should know---
