Help with boat ID...
I just picked up a '82 Sunbird by Chris Craft. Does anyone know about this boat. I can't post pics on here for some reason but the hull is Scarab like 26' . It originally had twins in it but now it has a single BBC in it.The upholstery is very nice but the cuddy not so much. I've already gutted it completely. I am going to bring it into the 21st century. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Gator

Gator: what does the Hull ID # start with? CCT is Chris Craft. I looked at NADA website and a 26 foot Sunbird was not built. They did built a 26 foot Scorpion by chris craft. The Hull Id # will tell you who built it.

The hull ID starts off with CCA, Which I think is Chris Craft Columbia,SC. I ren the HID# and it came back as a '82 SUNBIRD, CHRIS CRAFT, but I have been unable to locate any type of information on it. The hull is a Scarab style hull. I wish I knew some stuff about this paticular hull. If I can provide you anymore information let me know. You may be able to come up with something. I keep drawing blanks. Thanks for your time. I wish I could post a pic on here, that may help.

Is the boat red and named Instagator? There used to be a red boat named Instagator (the name was in yellow) running around south Louisiana several used ago. It had twin engines and was either a 26' Chris Craft Stinger or Wellcraft Nova, can't remember which.

Thank you Wannabe for posting the pic of my boat. I have been told that it is a Chris-Craft Stinger 260. If I understand what Sean posted correctly "CCA" is the designation for boats manufactured in Columbia,SC. by either OMC/Sunbird or Chris-Craft. "Cca Activated For Use By Omc/chris Craft In Columbia Sc As Per Omc Ltr Dated 19 Mar. 96/ Building Outboard Glass Fishing Boats. The Facility In Columbia Is Omc's 'sunbird' Boat Facility". Lst me know what you think or if I am misunderstanding Seans information. Thanks again, Gator
