We have decided to open the entry up to boats that are turbine powered.
We are still closed to any boats with canopies, but open turbine boats will be accepted. We have two northern boats that have wanted to compete for a while and now they can.
Race is Sept 22, 2012. The Don Aronow Around Long Island Marathon is 271 miles (Refueling allowed).

Thanks again guys for reconsidering this rule change.

Just heard today we have another 30 foot Sutphen for the 100 mile race.
That Bill Wishnick Trophy Dash might be a very crowded field......if some are doing well, they might just keep going all the way around....why stop??

For a guy batting .500 for this race I would expect more enthusiasm.........don't tell me your getting bored and want us to redo the Long beach to San Fran 400 plus miler.... like in the old days......That race was won by a 233 Formula, single engine, Peter Rothschild and Larry Smith and Chuck Daigh.

It all evens out doesn't it.
I feel the fates are turning back your way again. Remember real ocean racing is an addiction, can't take shake it once you win !! But what a great problem to have.
