Default Offshore question

OK, I have an honest question and one I hope does not start a flame war. I see some offshore races held on bodies of water that the name ends with "river", and I understand that the water still gets rough. There, the cats really tear it up, but....

Seeing these conditions and the apache video of Razz off Miami, makes me ask what some of the large 40' fast cats could do. I understand they 50' mystics are 25% longer and are way faster, but what happens to them when you run them is truly snotty water like these two videos? I know Gieco runs in the ocean, but I do not know just how rough it is when she does.

Honestly curious, how do these 140 to 180 mph cats fair when run in this type of water?

Oh, and how fast does it look like that apache is running there? 80 to 90's?

The rivers dont get rough, plain and simple. A 46 Skater or a 48 MTI could keep up in the rough with the right throttleman in this picture. Theres a reason they had to seperate the cats and vees. The cats walked all over them. THAT BEING SAID, its VERY hard to beat a good apache in rough water

Now wait for Commanche36 to tell me how I wrong I am even though he has zero experience in either....

You should go to Key West. You don't need a boat to have fun there. Lots of poker runners 150 plus an real offshore racing. Artie

I agree the 46 Skater is incredible all the way around in the right hands (Jim/Freedom SKater). And yes it's true I have never even seen the ocean in my life. All great points.
