Right on 8ft wide. Where as most 24x7's are about 6'10" Most girls I know can't even walk between the bolsters of the last 24x7 I was in. The hull flares on the formula vs the 24x7's have much straighter sides. The formula has higher freeboard by about a foot as well. They can be found in CC or sport boat configurations. Here was mine

Hey Ratman,

Saw a boat on Tamp CL I thought you might be interested in, it seems to meet most of your criteria.

It's not far from me, if you are interested I could possibly go check it out for you.

Ratman........the big difference in the 24's is the width.

Go on to the banana boat website and read the story behind the birth of the 24.

www.bananaboatco.com

The best 27 was designed by Harry Schoell. Don knew what he wanted, but could only give general ideas to Harry. Harry and his brother took the rough ideas and applied thier design background to them and came up with a real winner. I'm talking about the high sided one that was later cut down to make the Magnum and Cigarette hulls 27 and 28 footers.

Look at the open style adventure 30 footer yellow center console on my site too. We make it in both a twin outboard and a single sterndrive. That hull mold came from a Magnum 27.

Difference between 6 foot beam and 8 foot beam is stability in the rough. The width really had a lot to do with road laws back in the day. You couldn't build a boat too wide or else you coud not tow it around without a bunch of paperwork..

thx for posting th elinks, the cosra i think is too big to fit into a container. the ro ro service is 8500 bucks for a 27 foot boat on the trailer, the 24 sonic will fit in the container so will be about 3k, plus i erally need a cc for hauling the complete wall and floor sections of the cabins im building to the island where they will be assembled. thx again for posting the links,rm
