Those are Kaama Drives. When they put the Kaama package together they put Kaama Valve covers on to dress it up (easiest and cheapest way) . Those engines are probably at least 370 hp or even 400 + hp. Interesting find- cockpit is filthy but the boat looks good. Transom is probably wet and needs to be redone.

My Kaama boat didn't just have valve covers on for dress up. The Kaama engines in my boat were built by Innovation marine. I believe there was another HP engine builder besides Innovation at some point. That was a complete engine/ drive package, not one Merc part except distributor on mine.

I think those may be redone. Kaama motors are factory blue in general, regardless of boat color. It looks like those were redone to at least paint wise, to match. I agree the boat looks clean. I really love those old kaama boats. Should run close to 70 right from the factory.

I know the boat, transome is rotted out (it flexes as you pull up on the drives by hand) ,stringers are questionable and it was sunk a few times, engine size am told by the mechanic that maintained it (prior to the current owner) is 420 hp
the boots on the KAAMA's have slight dry rot (can use as is), the drives are standard KAAMA's
The fiberglass shines well and you can tell its been rack stored its while life
The cabin is in nice shape (below the bow) don't remember seeing (looked nice) any tears ir stains, carpet is clean and nice also
I tried getting it, but you know how it goes, the price was more than it was worth to me at the time (Last summer)
Vinal on the seats is getting hard , almost ready to crack
great project if you are prepared to re-transom it and put the drive lines back on ...would be cool when done,,,
Thats the scoop
