What kind of products have you guys found to be good for getting the shine back to gel coat and then what kind of wax do you use to keep your boat looking good?

Leverage spider wax. I believe it is actually a polymer polish rather than a wax.

Collinite. The "Fleet" wax, #885, is so tough we've actually used it as mold release.

Hands down, fountain of youth is now my favorite! Glass Dave was right on that product! It blows away McGuirs! My pops is also a big fan of it. Here's a post with another happy customer!

With the various types, I would imagine you need to match the specific blend to what your deck is painted with. Big difference between Awlgrip, Imron and the simple urethanes. I have always found that anything that works well with Gel Coat will work with Awlgrip - not so much for Imron though. Also, some waxes act as a magnifying glass and will burn some clear coats. Food for thought.

Good Luck

T

PS - Here is a pic of my 47' Post with 855 over the Awlgrip.
