Parts availability dried up for those drives almost thirty years ago. They're also not very strong compared to a standard TRS. Their benefit was the more slipstreamed case for high-speed running.

Swapping to one (if you could find one along with a helping of spares) would require a transom rework if going going from a TRS. The SSM2 will put the drive deeper in the water... the TRS is already really deep to begin with.

They're a cool piece to look at as conversation pieces, but that's about all.

Carson Brummett now owns all the gentry turbo stuff and is the only place u can get parts for them !!!!
