Any 36's with 350s?

Has anyone put a set of 350 Verados on a 36 yet? If so, what was the speed?

The 350 Racing Verados will not be ready until mid October with a healthy price tag over and above the 300"s Verados. With new gear case improvements and coming out of Mercury Racing division, its quite expensive. We are waiting for a dealer to step up with a stock or customer sold order.Currently the 300 Verados are leaving the factory on the 32 and 36 Concepts.

Denny, what speeds have you been seeing with the 300's on the 32 and 36?

I have dealers telling us anywhere from 65 to 69 mph with twin 300 Verados on a 36. Now thats just a couple of hours on the engines and depending on amounts of fuel.
The Cleveland dealer of ours just delivered a new 2009 32 over the week-end. I have a call in to the new owner to see if he had a chance to open it up.Waiting for the return phone call.I am sure with lab finished props and sharpen the running strakes you will see more mph.

So you kinda know what 350"s will do.Using a 25 inch shaft along with the right pitch size props.
You too! Thanks for asking the question.

You might be better off looking into the 300xs over the 350v
because of the weight. The speed I think will be pretty close
with the 300xs and 350v.Plus the 300xs has been out for a few years.

How do you think the gas consumption would be between the 300v and the 300xs?

300XS's are lighter, And you have to MUST run Premium fuel Or it will do damage that your Mercury warranty will not cover.
So you must make sure you have 91 or above octane to satisfy your engines hunger. 300 Verado will looses performance if you do not run high 91 octane. She detunes itself till you find the necessary octane to bring back the performance that its capable of doing with the higher octane fuel.
So it s like this: 300 XS's is 91 fuel only .
Verado 300 's you can get by but 91 is recommended.
Fuel Consumption is so close. Its a toss up.
