Sorry I haven't responded - the last 2 times we have been on the boat the marina had the boat in the water when we got there and it was about to storm when we returned, so I did not have an opportunity to look at it while she was on the rack. That having been said, I would think that my set up is similar to blckkat's. I usually drop that tabs and tuck the motor when coming onto plane, and have not issues or problems with cavitation. I have never tried to lower mine to see the effect on performance, and am quite happy with the way she runs as set up. One thing that seems to help is having a vented prop (see blckkat's pic above). If you haven't already, remove the vent hole plugs when you raise the motor height.
