Head Gasket checks

Does anybody have any tips on checking for a cracked head gasket when both the exhaust manifolds are off? Before I changed the spark plugs I wanted to blow out the oil from winterizing and I got a few puffs of water out the second spark plug hole on the starboard side I think its the #4. All the spark plugs look good, compression was good on the side in question compression was between 145 and 135. Port side compression was about the same. I'm hoping it got there when I removed the exhaust manifolds. I'm in the middle of installing new GIL manifolds and captains choice and would hate to have take all apart again for a leak. Thanks.

You could do a leak down test. Other than that, there is no way to tell for sure without pulling the heads.
