502 mag timing!!!

I'm helping a friend work on a 98 502. I need some one that knows to help me. I understand taht you have to ground a wire or something out to set base timing but havent found anyone that can help me. HELP!!!!!

I have been told that you can do it with out the tool. Can anyone help me?

You can jump the two wires in the dlc connector,
they're ajacent to each other, I'm thinking one is black
and the other is black/white, but I'll have to get
out the manual when I get home to be shure.

I think a 98 might have a purple/white wire near the dist. if it does, jumper it to grnd to set base timing.

forgot. it usually is not connected to anything and has a clear plug in the end of it. it is the est wire bypass
