Fluid Harmonic Dampners

How many people are running fluid harmonic dampners? I was running the OEM rubber dampner and I have been wondering if the fluid dampners are needed? I don't want to waste money.

Thoughts.

sometimes over a long period of time the fluid can actually start to harden up
Ive used them in the past on some drag car motors but Im not crazy about them

what kind of motor are you putting it on,
if its a kind of mild motor (under 800hp) I would just run the pioneer balancer they make a regular one and an HD one,
I forget the part number off the top of my head but I usually go with the HD ones on mild type build stuff
they work great and are affordable (usually around $100-$125)

cbellamore same as me,Mine came with the drag car.its about 11 years old.I would not buy it over,ATI first.Beawere of the cheap imports.

Now in a marine BBC I heard from a few engine builders the stock one is pretty good.I ran the stock on my 500efi 3 years and 2 years with the whipple. The only reason I change one had a little bit of rubber pinching out about .200. then bought these
